On April 2, 2025 the event titled  “Green Agriculture Conference Armenia'' organized by the European Union, Austrian Development Agency and Armenian National Agrarian University was launched at Armenia Mariott Hotel, aiming to foster innovative and research-based development in the field of green agriculture.

As a pioneer in applying innovative green agricultural practices, the Small Grants Programme was also represented at the event, showcasing the results of its pilot and demo initiatives implemented over the years. Particularly, during the poster session the SGP Grantees highlighted their project achievements to the event guests, shared valuable experience, lessons learnt as well as engaged in discussions about existing challenges and opportunities within the field.

Thus, the event featured the  projects  funded by UNDP/GEF SGP over the last decade which had a significant impact on fostering sustainable development and green agriculture in Armenia. By presenting the pilot and demo projects on biofuel application, efficient land and water management, intensive horticulture, the grantees from Lori and Shirak regions of Armenia once again underscored the importance of innovative initiatives as models for further scale up and replication across Armenia.
