On July 20 a kick-off meeting of the “Green Book” project took place at the UN House in Armenia. The project is being implemented by “Women in Climate and Energy” NGO through financial support of the UNDP/GEF Small Grants Programme.

The project objectives, main gaps in the sector, as well as innovative approaches to address those were presented to the participants from state institutions, civil society organizations, etc.

Nune Sakanyan, the NGO representative, emphasized the importance of extracurricular educational modules on Armenia’s ecosystems, environmental issues, climate change, its mitigation and adaptation for schoolchildren, making them available for educational institutions, teachers, pupils and other interested people being far from the capital.

Based on the experience obtained by “Green Skills for Youth” project, funded by the SGP, it is planned to develop and pilot modules based on theoretical and practical excercises and games.
