The SGP activities on reproduction of Sevan trout are highlighted at the GEF and SGP global websites

The Global Environment Facility’s Small Grants Programme in Armenia supports the project focusing on restoration of the ecosystem and biodiversity of Lake Sevan. This initiative envisages establishment of a small scale fish hatchery in Geghhovit community of Gegharkunik region where incubation of the mentioned two subspecies of “Sevan trout” and free release of five to ten thousand juvenile fish to Lake Sevan and the basin’s rivers annually will be conducted.
